Happy Grandpals' Day

We loved getting to spend time with grandpals today!  

Aldridge Gardens

Our class had a great time at our field trip to Aldridge Gardens!  The students learned about propagation and even propagated some of their own plants!  Thank you Mrs. Warren for helping chaperone our class! 

Math Games

The class has started doing math stations daily where they rotate through 4 stations: teacher, independent, games, and challenge.  They are doing a great job with the stations and are learning a lot!

Some of the games that the students have learned about so far are:
- 5 to Make 205 - which uses addition and estimating
- Closest to 1,000 - which uses 4 digition addition
- Closest to 0 - which uses 4 digit subtraction

Glad to Be Back

I am so happy to be back with the class!  We have already had a great time this past week and a half learning a lot of new things!

In science, students have been learning about plant embryos, seed coats, and we are even planting our very own Wiscosin Fast Growing plants!

We have also started our reading rotations this week!

It was so great meeting each of you at "Meet the Teacher"!  For those of you who were unable to make it, I am looking forward to meeting you on August 19th for Open House.  We will discuss all information pertaining to this school year including field trips, curriculum, and what to expect in third grade!  I look forward to seeing your children again on September 8th.
