Colonial Day

In addition to DARE Graduation this week, all of the fifth grade students participated in Colonial Day.  If you visited, you will be amazed to know that the students:

1)  did their own research

2)  wrote their own scripts

3)  created their own costumes and propts

4)  wrote a five paragraph expository essay on their research

That is a lot of work that the students did!  Here are some pictures from their day, including their skits and colonial dancing:



 

Skype and DARE Graduation

Last week, students were able to Skype with high schoolers from Homewood High School. Students prepared questions and projects to share with them. They loved the interaction!

Also, Monday was DARE Graduation! The students sang three songs and presented essays. They are now officially graduates! Two of our very own classmates won the overall essay contest and overall poster contest! Congratulations to those two students for their hard work and extra effort!

MAD Scientist

Last Wednesday students had the pleasure of having Mr. Breeden teach they about electricity in the home and special circuits. Students also got to see light switches, outlets, and make their own light sources using a bulb and battery.
